Our aim is to provide relief from the effects of violence and poverty and to promote longer-term development through a range of education, health, protection, and peace-building initiatives.
We work to defend the rights of the children who need us most:; street children, working children, child victims of violence and children with healthcare needs. Wherever possible, we also provide support to the children’s families, in order to understand and tackle the root causes of problems.
We work in partnership with local NGOs (non-governmental organisations) that demonstrate a track record of delivering vital social change in response to great need. We also aim to identify new and innovative initiatives that need support to get started, and have the potential to be of national benefit.
We prefer to support projects for a minimum of three years to promote stability, however we also respond to emergency need where possible. During our partnerships, we offer accompaniment and technical support to develop projects and institutional structures. This ensures that factors such as children’s rights and monitoring and evaluation are incorporated into projects, and that the NGO is more sustainable when our partnership ends.
All projects are monitored and evaluated by our Executive Director and Field Officers.
Our funding comes from a variety of sources, including individuals, charitable trusts and foundations, businesses, and community organisations such as schools, Rotary International and churches.
